Between February and July, Black Wall may experience climbing restrictions due to nesting peregrine falcons. Cannibal Gully and/or On Ramp Recess are the favored nesting sites; however, the restriction is variable and may be applied to other sections of the crag. The banned sections will be delimited by placards at the crag's base.
6/14/2017 - Due to peregrine nesting, The Access Fund and Truckee Donner Land Trust have called for a temporary voluntary closure on the mid-section of Black Wall. Affected routes are: Next, Birdy, Imaginary Voyage and Super Slab. The nest is located below Sky Pilot (pitch 3 of Imaginary Voyage).
